The latest from KRI is Interference, a small exhibition that gathers together four artists of uncommon brilliance: Elle Divine, Razceljan Salvarita, Jana Jumalon-Alano, and Rianne Dawn Salvarita. It’s interesting to note that they make up exactly the kind of artists who usually thrive in Dumaguete—the beautiful langyaw, two coming from Bacolod, one from Australia, and another one from Zamboanga. Their disparate roots coupled with distinct visions inform an exhibition that varies in mediums and artistic expressions—and perhaps it is that variety that they truly celebrate. For them, after all, Interference means “a surge of ecstatic creativity,” a “raw[ness] of infinite possibilities.”
“[It] is a radical frequency,” their collective statement continues. “Taken from a higher realm, it is a positive deviant. It triggers inclusion towards a diversified perspective that caters to a change from monotony… [It] projects a new vision of maturity in understanding the scope of sundry forms of art expressions in the borderless creative playground. Interference Art Exhibition (October 2013)
Interference is a radical frequency. Taken from a higher realm, it is a positive deviant. It triggers inclusion towards a diversified perspective that caters to a change from monotony.
Interference projects a new vision of maturity in understanding the scope of sundry forms of art expressions in the borderless creative playground. It is a virtual ripple that touches the edge of the monotonic zone as it makes a subtle invitation to take bolder exploration in the spirit of creativity.
Interference is abstract; a surge of ecstatic creativity; raw of infinite possibilities.

Mapping the history of Herstory (January 2014)
Every dot creates a constellation of discovery uncovered through the field of deep radical inquiry within one’s self. It is how the strength of the new series of works by Australian contemporary abstractionist, Elle Divine, embody a certain gravitational pull in the sense of experiencing the layering process of her works and the inter-marriage of the ‘spirit’ of indigenous art and the innovative medium of digital photography.

Herstory: A celebration of Art by Women (February 2014)

Elle Divine’s recent art show “Mapping the history of Herstory” has inspired Atty. Myrish Cadapan-Antonio, co-organizer for VDay Negros Oriental, to invite women artists to showcase their artworks in a group show titled “Herstory: A celebration of Art by Women”.
The exhibition opens on February 14 – a day of celebration for the One Billion Rising of VDay – at the Robinsons Place, Dumaguete City.
About 35 women artists will display their works during the exhibition, among them Elle Divine, Sharon Dadang-Rafols, Jana Jumalon-Alano, Kitty Taniguchi, Muffet Villegas, Arlene Delloso-Uypitching, and Susan Canoy.

53rd Silliman University National Writers Workshop (May 2014)
The 53rd edition of the Silliman University National Writers Workshop is slated to start on 5 May 2014 at the Rose Lamb Sobrepeña Writers Village in Camp Look-out, Valencia, Negros Oriental.
Fifteen writers from all over the Philippines have been accepted as workshop fellows. They are Jose Jason Chancoco (Ateneo de Naga), Daniel Hao Chua Olivan Jr. (Ateneo de Manila), Maria Camille Rivera (UP Diliman), and Roberto Klemente Timonera (Silliman University) for poetry; Jovy Almero (UP Diliman), Prescilla Dorado (UP Mindanao), Jose Renato Evangelista (DLSU Manila), Rolly Jude Ortega (Silliman University), Erlinda Mae Young (UP Diliman), Deil Jossaine Galenzoga (Silliman University), and Christian Renz Torres (Silliman University) for fiction; and Johanna Michelle Barot Lim (University of San Carlos), Jan Kevin Rivera (UP Diliman), Gracielle Deanne Tubera (Ateneo de Davao), and Elle Divine for creative nonfiction.
The panel of writers/critics for this year includes Director-in-Residence Susan S. Lara; Dumaguete-based writer César Ruìz Aquino; National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera; and guest panelists Gémino H. Abad, Dean Francis Alfar, Merlie Alunan, Ricardo de Ungria, Marjorie Evasco, Grace Monte de Ramos, Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo, DM Reyes, John Jack Wigley, Alfred Yuson. They will be joined by three foreign panelists, including New York Writers Workshop co-founder Tim Tomlinson, Singaporean poet Alvin Pang, and former Nonfiction Writing Program at the University of Iowa director Robin Hemley.
The workshop, which traditionally lasts for three weeks, is the oldest creative writing workshop of its kind in Asia. It was founded in 1962 by S.E.A. Write Awardee Edilberto K. Tiempo and National Artist Edith L. Tiempo, and was recently given the Tanging Parangal in the Gawad CCP Para sa Sining by the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
